Ernesto Neto's biomorphic sculptures

 Creepy or Awesome?

One of artist Ernesto Neto's latest works titled 'External Stimuli'
resembles a huge spider's nest. It does look fluffy though...

I wonder if we could get a bed like this in the BTech lab...

First Vertical Farm in Sweden

A few years ago, Plantagon, a Swedish-American company based in Stockholm, unveiled plans to construct a series of massive skyscraper greenhouse that would set the future of urban farming in large cities. At first these vertical farms appeared to be nothing more than dreams, too good to be true. Now Plantagon  are breaking grounds, starting with the creation of a large urban greenhouse, intended to produce food for the city of Linköping in south-central Sweden.

The building will take about a year and a half to construct, with the collaboration of the local public utility Tekniska Verken and the design and engineering firm, Sweco.

The "Plantscraper" will stand roughly 54 meters tall and will be used  to test vertical farming concepts, creating solutions to some of the most vexing city pollution issues whilst growing and selling fresh fruit and vegetables directly to the people of Linköping.
